Chippenham (Population 550)

Chippenham is situated approximately 4 miles north of Newmarket.   The early village was owned by the Order of the Knights' Hospitaler for 300 years but later developed as an estate village adjoining Chippenham Park. There are a number of picturesque and interesting buildings which include a lovely old church with a few remaining 15th C wall paintings, also an elegant Georgian period school and a fine row of artisans' cottages. 

Chippenham Park has award winning gardens open to the public several times a year, private tours of the house can be arranged through 'Invitation to View'.  The village has a public house 'The Tharp Arms', village hall and horse-riding stables.

Expansion in recent years includes the successful La Hogue Farm Shop on the outskirts of the village and also the Wildtracks motorsport complex

The thriving and lively community enjoys many social and sporting activities, the village having an excellent cricket ground, tennis courts and bowls club.
