500 Miles (12A)

Finn and Charlie’s family is falling apart as their parents embark on an acrimonious divorce. Worried they will be split up, they decide to run away to their grandfather (Bill Nighy) who lives on the West Coast of Ireland. But grandad is estranged from the family because of a traumatic event – and the boys are unclear exactly what that was. They encounter all sorts of obstacles and use every known form of transport to reach their destination and the film is funny, powerful and moving with exceptional cinematography. (101 min)
