Ely Markets

There are three main markets a week, plus a Farmers’ Market twice a month and Mini-Markets on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Everyone is welcome and thousands of people visit the stalls every week.

Charter Market

8.30am – 3.30pm every Thursday
Our friendly weekly market is a fabulous shopping destination and an important community hub. There’s everything you’d expect from a traditional market, plus a few surprises. Each week you’ll find locally grown fruit and vegetables, flowers, household goods, artisan bread, cakes and more. Shoppers come to do their weekly shopping, catch up on local news and enjoy our delicious street food. You never know what you’ll find, or who you’ll meet!

Craft, Food and Vintage

8.30am – 3.30pm every Saturday
Grab a locally roasted coffee and start browsing one of the most diverse markets in Cambridgeshire. Each week there’s a wonderful mix of quirky antiques, books, artisan produce and handmade crafts. Street food is a big thing for us and we’ve got everything from authentic Mexican and Brazilian food to amazing cakes and freshly baked bread. It’s the perfect way to kick start your weekend!

Farmers Market

8.30am – 2.00pm every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month
There’s something for everyone at this twice-monthly market. You’ll find top quality local fruit and vegetables, flowers, plants, shrubs and herbs – plus a fantastic mix of meat, cakes, pies, pastries and preserves. Now over twenty years old, our Farmers’ Market continues to evolve and innovate. Our ‘Vegan Alley’ boasts an ever-growing selection of delicious and innovative plant-based treats which attract visitors from all over the region.

Sunday and Bank Holiday Market

9.00am – 3.00pm every Sunday
This laid-back market is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Browsing the eclectic range of stalls, while enjoying some delicious street food, is one of the best things to do in Ely on a Sunday. You’ll find everything from food, plants and gifts to vintage collectables and vinyl. There’s always something fun for the kids too – from sweet treats to a traditional fairground ride.

Mini Market

8.30am – 3.30pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Our Mini-Markets are an exciting new initiative to give you more of what you want, when you want it. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays we plan to bring together a small selection of stalls selling essentials like fruit, vegetables, coffee and bread. We want to lead the way in helping local residents to take a more thoughtful approach to their shopping. Buying little and often from a local market isn’t just convenient, it also helps reduce food waste and cuts down on packaging.
