Group Itineraries

We are happy to work with you to make the most of your time and create a memorable occasion. Whether you are a small or large group or whether you are visiting as part of a coach group or arranging a social gathering or a corporate experience. We can tailor make your visit to fit the time required whether that be a few hours or a few days.
Our full day programme is listed here to give you a flavour of the tours we can arrange for you. All can be mixed and matched and additional activities and tours added.

Ely Tourist Information Centre

Make the TIC your first port of call and pick up a map, some leaflets and catch up with the Visit Ely team to find out the latest news and updates of what is happening in Ely and the surrounding area. A coach drop off point is located directly outside and we can provide a Meet and Greet service if required. Costumed, guided tours of the House are available which brings this atmospheric building alive. This is the only remaining home of the Lord Protector still in existence other than Hampton Court Palace, London.

Morning Refreshments

Choose from either traditional tearooms with beautiful architecture and stunning gardens, or just a contemporary setting is more to your liking. We can provide a list of venues, with menus priced for the group market. Including 17th century inspired menus at Oliver Cromwell's House!

Ely Cathedral

The magnificent, medieval cathedral, known as the Ship of the Fens, offers a variety of guided tours. Including ground floor tours or one of its more adventurous Octagon or West Tower Tours where the views make the climb worthwhile!

Stained Glass Museum

Housed in the South Triforium of Ely Cathedral, guided tours of its stunning collection of stained glass are available.

Lunch

Whatever your taste and budget, Ely has a host of different eateries on offer whether you choose to eat as a group or as individuals. If you wish to eat as a group, then we can provide group rate menus and prices. A midday break also gives you an opportunity to visit the many independent shops, antique shops, art galleries or market (depending on the day of your visit).

Ely Museum

Come and explore the heritage of Ely and the surrounding fens, from the prehistoric creatures who swam in the ancient oceans to Ely today. Find out about the ways of life from the wide wetlands to the rich farmland and how the unusual landscape has shaped the lives of the people who lived here. Built on an island of solid land surrounded by marshes, discover the development of Ely from a monastic foundation to a market town.

Time for a stroll

Following the Eel Trail is an excellent way of seeing historic Ely at its best. This circular walk, self-guided by brass waymarkers set in the ground, takes you past the oldest parts of Ely with its beautiful monastic buildings, stunning architecture and spectacular views. It also takes you down to the beautiful waterside where we can arrange for you to take a cruise along the river. A series of guided walks are also available.

Evening Experiences

We have several venues that provide group priced menus which we can arrange for you. There are also various venues that can provide pre-drinks facilities including Oliver Cromwell's House, which is very atmospheric at dusk. We can also offer Ghost Walks, evening tours of Oliver Cromwell's House or for smaller groups, an Escape Room experience.
