Visit Ely, The City of Ely Council, Ely Cathedral and the Royal British Legion Ely Branch are pleased to be working together to offer an entire day of celebrations to commemorate this significant anniversary along with the entire nation.

Thursday 8th May 2025 will see an entire programme of events including services of thanksgiving and celebration, a Beacon lighting and much more.

The celebrations do not end there, as Ely will once again be celebrating Armed Forces Day 2025 on 21st June with another amazing event with some extra special guests and a focus on VE Day 80!

Even the Eels of Eel Weekend are getting in on the celebrations, with the Eel Festival being themed around VE Day 80 with bunting and entertainment!
