Blackwork Embroidery Caps with Steph Norwood

Embroider your own cap with traditional ‘blackwork’ patterns. Design your own custom cap using an embroidery technique made popular by the Tudors! Blackwork embroidery uses simple stitches to create beautifully intricate geometric patterns.

Working from templates, we will go step-by-step to stitch our caps. You can even customise your colour and motifs to suit your style. ​Whether you’re new to stitching or an experienced maker, this workshop will guide you through each stage in a fun, relaxed setting. No previous experience needed, and all tools and materials provided. Just bring yourself and your creativity!​

Two and a half hour evening session – Materials and equipment provided – Social atmosphere – Beginner-friendly, step-by-step instructions What will I take away? One cotton cap (black or white) with two panels of hand-stitched geometric patterns in a contrasting colour (white of black). An additional central motif is optional.
