Make it with Marmalade Cards for Christmas Course

In our mass produced, digital age, this Relief Printmaking course will show you how to use traditional Linocutting techniques with confidence so that you can create and hand print your own unique and personalised cards that will be kept and appreciated long after Christmas.

Join us over two consecutive Saturday mornings in December, from 10am to 1pm, to learn how to linocut in single and multiple colours and how to develop eye-catching and original designs for your own Christmas cards. By the end of the course you will have printed an edition of at least five unique cards to keep, sell or send to your friends for Christmas, which they will really treasure. You will also have given yourself the very valuable gift of some time to yourself, where you can unwind and discover your own creativity in a sociable, relaxed and friendly environment.

No experience is necessary to take part in this course as complete beginners will be able to create cards they will be proud of. Young people over 16 years are very welcome, if they can bring a well-behaved adult with them. So you may like to gather some friends or family members to bring with you so that you can all enjoy a relaxing early Christmas activity together. Our price includes all materials, homemade refreshments (perhaps your first mince pie of the season?) tea, coffee and a well earned glass of something bubbly on your last day, to get you fizzing with early Christmas cheer. Class size is limited and we only have four spaces left, so to avoid disappointment, we advise early booking to secure your place on this popular course. Here’s what Jen said about her class last Christmas “The linocut Christmas card course was brilliant and we all enjoyed learning how to experiment with the printmaking process to make our own designs. Al was a super teacher and the cakes were lovely.”

Marmalade Print Studio is easy to find as it is centrally located in the town on Pratt Street, which runs between Hall Street at one end and the High Street at the other. We have a map on our website at https://www.marmaladeprintstudio.co.uk/contactus There is free on-street parking in Pratt Street and two free car parks nearby. For those coming by public transport, the T5 bus operated by A2B from Drummer Street in Cambridge stops five minutes walk from the studio and The 112 bus route between Newmarket and Ely operated by Stephenson’s buses, stops outside the studio.
