Make it with Marmalade Discover Linocutting Workshops Discover the art of printmaking and how to unlock your creativity in the supportive and inspiring environment of our lovely, garden studio. We are Oyster Community Press CIC, a local community arts organisation and we run Marmalade Print Studio, in Soham, Ely. This October we have weekly Introductory printmaking workshops for you to book, where you will discover the magic of working with ink and paper on our traditional printmaking presses, and take home your own fabulous prints.

You will work in a small group with lots of one-to-one tuition designed to help you decide what direction you might like to pursue as a printmaker in the future. By the end of your Discover Linocutting workshop, you will have an understanding of printmaking as an artform, be comfortable using our printmaking equipment and will have designed and produced a black and white and a colour Linocut print yourself. As we take you through every process and provide you with one-to-one tuition to help you get the most out of your time with us, our workshops are suitable for beginners and people with no previous arts experience. They are also great for those with rusty skills who want a refresher session to boost their confidence. All materials needed are provided at our workshops, along with tea, coffee and homemade light refreshments, so you don’t need to bring anything with you. Young people over 16 years old are very welcome if they bring an adult with them. Please note, that although our inks are washable and we have aprons in the studio, we don’t recommend wearing your best clothes when you visit us, as printmaking can be a bit messy! Marmalade Print Studio is easy to find as it is centrally located in the town on Pratt Street, which runs between Hall Street at one end and the High Street at the other. For those coming by public transport, the T5 bus operated by A2B from Drummer Street in Cambridge stops five minutes walk from the studio and The 112 bus route between Newmarket and Ely operated by Stephenson’s buses, stops outside the studio.
