Make it with Marmalade Introduction to Printmaking
Is Printmaking for you? Come and find out at our friendly, hands-on, introductory workshop for people who have no experience, but would like to try both Intaglio and Relief printmaking techniques in one session. Our half-day Introduction to Printmaking workshops are an ideal way to experience the magic of printmaking as you are able to explore and experiment within one session with different processes and techniques. To facilitate this, you will work in a small group with lots of one-to-one tuition designed to help you decide what direction you might like to pursue as a printmaker in the future. By the end of your time with us, you will have a good understanding of printmaking as an art form, be comfortable using our printmaking equipment and will have produced a Drypoint Etching and a Linocut print yourself.
Our printmaking workshops at marmalade https://www.marmaladeprintstudio.co.uk/ are held in the relaxed and creative environment of our lovely garden studio in Soham, Ely, where we provide you with all the materials you need, along with tea, coffee, and cake. Please note that, although we have aprons in the studio, we recommend that you don’t wear your best clothes when you visit us, as printmaking can be a bit messy.
Young people over 16 years old are very welcome if they bring an adult with them. “It has been fantastic to learn the beginnings of a new process and I know that I would love to learn more. The venue, the people and the teaching all made for a really special experience for me.” Marmalade Print Studio is easy to find https://www.marmaladeprintstudio.co.uk/contactus We have free on-street parking and two free car parks nearby and for those coming by public transport, the T5 bus operated by A2B from Drummer Street in Cambridge stops five minutes walk from the studio and the 112 bus route between Newmarket and Ely operated by Stephenson’s buses, stops beside the studio.
