Eel Day
The heart of Ely’s Eel Festival Weekend, Eel Day is a lively celebration of the city’s heritage, bringing the riverside to life with colour, creativity, and community spirit.
The day begins with the much-loved Eel Parade, where imaginative floats and costumes wind their way through the city before arriving at the riverside. From there, the festivities continue with live music, street food, entertainment, and plenty of family-friendly activities.
With a vibrant atmosphere and something happening at every turn, Eel Day is a joyful showcase of Ely at its most playful – a tradition that’s as unique as the city itself.
Eel Day takes place on Jubilee Gardens between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 2nd May 2026
